Joseph Joseph - Chop2Pot™
The Chop2Pot is the original folding chopping board that makes transferring chopped ingredients effortless. The sides fold upward into a chute, guiding food neatly into pots, pans, compost bins, or rubbish - eliminating spills and improving kitchen efficiency.
We reimagined the iconic product of the naughties into a graphic, functional design - keeping its core functionality but improving the ergonomics and use of materials. The result is a slender and striking product, perfect for chopping on.

Process
We began by understanding home-cooking workflows: chopping, handling, transferring, cleaning. Investigation into pain points - spillage, handles that are slippery, boards that wobble - helped define functional goals: intuitive folding, secure grip, non-slip stability, and easy storage.
Multiple iterations refined the board’s silhouette and folding mechanism. A single-hand squeeze handle activates twin “living hinges,” raising the sides without compromising the knife-safe surface or structural integrity.
We integrated a textured, knife-friendly top surface to resist blade wear and non-slip feet for stability.
Rapid prototypes validated fold angles, fold lifespan, injection mould feasibility, seam quality, and fold reliability under repeated use. We worked with suppliers to perfect living-hinge performance and batch colouring - ensuring consistency across blue, green, black colourways.
This project highlights our expertise in user-led kitchenware design, mechanical living-hinge solutions, DFM for injection molding, and delivering a refined product ready for global manufacturing and retail.
