Corten Studio - Urban Safety range

Corten Studio’s Urban Safety Range offers a comprehensive suite of planters, seating, lighted, and barrier bollards designed to deliver pedestrian safety, vehicle restraint, and place-making - all within a cohesive architectural framework. The system integrates hostile‑vehicle mitigation (HVM) with urban design, enabling plazas, streetscapes, and campuses to remain inviting and functional.

The Urban Safety Range proves that safety infrastructure doesn’t have to be visually aggressive - its elegant aesthetics and configurable logic have enabled projects in high‑footfall environments, corporate campuses, and public realm zones. The seamless integration of functional seating, lighting, and greenery elevates the user experience while adhering to safety codes.

Process

We helped structure the modular logic across six product categories—planter bollards, bar‑table bollards, seating pods, lighted bollards, waste‑bin bollards, and custom-shroud bollards - based on consistent datum lines and interface geometry, allowing flexible configurations on-site.

Our team advanced the structural detailing of the in-ground and removable bollard systems, including a crash-rated removable version (e.g., C40‑R) and pre-assembled fixed units with no on-site welding needed.

We translated concept into fabric tension and assembly-friendly geometry, refined fasteners, grouting recesses, and tolerances, and iterated prototypes to test load transfer, removability, mounting, and modular seating integration.

We advised on finishes - weathering Corten steel or marine-grade aluminium (approx. 60% lighter and 85% recycled content)—with full powder coat options in custom RAL, coordinating tactile finishes with seating or planter interfaces.
