Process

Greg wanted to replicate the tactile familiarity and control of DSLR shooting on phones, so we framed the G-Grip’s design around ergonomics, usability, and mindset shifts for mobile photographers.

We engineered the grip for balanced feel, thumb reach, easy cycling between portrait and landscape, and intuitive shutter control with haptics to match a DSLR. A responsive spring latch secures the device to the phone plate for stable shooting, allowing flexibility with positioning as well as the ability to locate both in landscape and portrait orientations.

Rapid prototypes were tested with Greg and real-world photographers to refine feel, alignment, lag, and mount rigidity - balancing small wobble tolerance with firm hold .

We delivered production-ready CAD files, assembly documentation, packaging, and supply-chain guidance supporting production in China and global launch. The grip is protected by patents that were created by Farrah & Pearce.

  • “What I love most about shooting with the GGrip is being able to expose, shoot and hold my phone exactly as I do a camera”
